AZT Killer B, easy 53’s at Tsukuba!

This Subaru looks poised to rise to the top.

Flying around Tsukuba in a fan-favorite!

I must admit that I never thought I’d see the day when I’d drive a Subaru capable of knocking the Evo’s at Tsukuba. As a long-time Subaru fan, I think that time may have come.

Earlier this week, I received a message from Parisse from AZT saying that he had a 22b capable of 52’s at Tsukuba. I took it all in, but to say I was skeptical is an understatement. Parisse assured me that the car was already capable, he was simply waiting on R2P Chemical to test it. After seeing the months of development it took to get an Evo into that realm, I had my doubts.

Imagine my surprise when the very next day I had an XBL message telling me they had done it. Wait. What? It couldn’t have been that easy. I checked the scoreboard and it was right. Granted, R2P Chemical is one of the fastest drivers in Forza, but still, who would’ve thought a Subaru would get a 52 that easily? A few laps with Parisse and I was convinced. He gave me a few pointers, two cars, and turned me loose. Within roughly 15 laps at Tsukuba, I knocked off my Evo X PB with a mistake-riddled 53.925. Seriously.

As I said before, I have both versions of the car… the 52-second-specific tune, and a kinder, gentler model that I’m told is almost guaranteed to get most Pro level drivers into the 53’s with a bit of time behind the wheel. That is a feat in itself, and I almost feel like the time I spent gunning for the 53-second mark was wasted. The car seen here is the bright yellow 22B prototype that Chemical set his 52 with, and it truly is a killer. This car delivered a 53 effortlessly for me once I settled down, all the while short-shifting and without running to the limit.

AZT is associated with some of the fastest drivers in Forza, R2P, and it shows. Parisse has made it a mission to make the cars easy to drive for everyone, and with these cars he’s succeeded. I haven’t even had a chance to really drive the “forgiving” tune, but rest assured, it’s my next stint behind the wheel.

After all the Evo’s I’ve driven, I always thought mid or low-53’s were a pipe dream for me. Now I think that it’s not only possible, it’s inevitable. Missed apexes, braking too early, and taking the wrong line and still delivering a 53? Sign me up.

Easy 53’s for most make this an automatic 5-Star car

Pros:
Stupid fast.
Easy to drive.
Finally a Subaru that can compete with the Evolutions.

Cons:
We’ve had access to these cars for a year!

My rating: 5.0 stars

  1. “Missed apexes, braking too early, and taking the wrong line and still delivering a 52?”

    I think you mean 53 :P

Nice review, I can’t wait to drive this car and see what it took to get a Subaru tuned for a 52.

  2. LOL, indeed. You caught me mid-edit.

The car technically did all those things and delivered a 52… just not at the same time! ROFL.

Anyway, Swift, even someone as fast as you is gonna be shocked as how easily this car goes fast. My PB is admittedly slow by comparison, but this 22b easily bested it. This thing is sick!

  3. I’m not that fast… and I wouldn’t want to beat my precious Evo X PB anyway LOL.

You still don’t have that car do you… I’ll get it to you today if you are on. You got the final build/tune for Aegis back right?

Whoops, I shouldn’t be posting this here… uh.. again, nice review!!

  4. LOL. Yeah I got it back! Thanks for that.

You can’t gift the X. So you’ll either have to sell it to me when we’re both on or PM me the settings at FM.net. I don’t mind buying it off the AH so let me know.

Aren’t you already in the low 53’s?

  5. Oh, I will just PM you the settings then. I didn’t think of that. Expect a PM in the next 5 minutes.

I am in the low 53’s, but I don’t have the patience, dedication, or consistency to get a 52. If I could get a top driver to drive my Evo….

  6. Woohoo, can’t wait for this car to be released!

  7. i want one…………….

  8. they need to hurry up an release the bl##dy thing!!!!

  9. As I understand it, the car will be released on this coming friday with 2 versions of paint. The B52 Bomber, painted by SpecOpsBob and the KillerB painted by me.

  10. So are you, hashiriya, a part of AZT or was that a freelance paint? Love your liveries!
