Cars of the Year
Car of the Year - 2007
Ok everyone, it's time to kick off the Car of the Year, 2007 issue. The criteria we judged on was simple.
1. Tune
2. Paint
3. Community Impact
There are many cars out there that do a great job at all three, and will be reviewed in due time. For now, we have the daunting task of picking from our favorites from past and present. If your car didn't make the list, please don't take it personally. There are too many of our favorites that just couldn't be included. Basically, we had to stop somewhere!

There are literally hundreds of tune cars out there, and I'm sure we don't have all of them. I would like to thank all the tuners and garages for making this game interesting well past the first time through it. I've normally have moved onto other games by now. But there is something about the community here that I have enjoyed I look forward to another cracken year and thanks again to everyone. Great tunes, liveries, and people. I look forward to the next year. Here is a look back at the 6-7 months that was.

D Class

Tuning AG Scion tC
This car is just great to drive with a good speed and great livery, another great job done by AG Tuning.
- DJSlackerjr
Great speed, look, and tune. LPT and DepthC0RE have really outdone themselves here!
- FCF iNFERNO

Garage Setagaya MR-S
This car just grips, this was one of my first cars that I owned in the game and it help me beat every D class race I got into.
- DJSlackerjr
The massive amount of fun that can be had in this car make it one of the year's best.
- FCF iNFERNO

Tango Tuners 06 Pontiac Solstice
One quicker D Class cars I own, and with the Sunoco livery on it, makes me smile. My father used to own a Sunoco garage.
- DJSlackerjr
C Class

Garage Setagaya Corrado
This car is quick, grips, and has a clean paint. It was hard to fault the Beetle or the Saab from this set as well.
- DJSlackerjr
Likewise, I had trouble deciding between this and the Beetle as I went through the cars. The unusual Corrado is a great car to race and a little easier to drive. The paint on this one is very much like a street car.

SS Dynamics Mini Cooper S
Servo has done many great cars and its hard to pick just one. But with a quick Maple Valley time in this car, it is one of the best.
- DJSlackerjr
While I don't own it, I've raced against it. I have to say that the car is fast and has tons of grip.

B Class

Metasploit's Precision Tuning Mugen Integra
One of the best handling B-Class cars out there, this was the first Mugen Integra tune that I am aware of being offered to the public. Shortly thereafter, it became a Leaderboard weapon and went from challenger to champion.

SW2 Tuning Honda S2000
Super fast car, excellent handling. All around great. I drove it casually to within 2 hundredths (.02) of my personal best. The paint on this is very subtle and nicely done.
- FCF iNFERNO

UBM North American Pack
At a time when Asian cars we flooding the market UBM came out with a North American set.
- DJSlackerjr
A great set proved that as strong as the Mugens were, there were also some great alternatives.

A Class

GS Tsukuba Express
An outstanding paintjob and the fact that no car ever lasted more than a minute on the AH make this one of the greats of 2007.
- DJSlackerjr
Advancement in design brought to life in the first car to challenge the Lotus' grip on the Tsukuba Leaderboard.
- FCF iNFERNO

GS / AG Tsukuba Express 2
With the AG name behind it, it leaves little doubt that this car is good.
- DJSlackerjr
Unlimited availability for 2 weeks, everyone that wanted one could get one. Props to hashiriya and the AG crew for delivering the masterpiece that is the fastest A-Class car overall at Tsukuba Circuit. Winning the Tsukuba Shootout 1 made this Evo an automatic contender on performance alone.
- FCF iNFERNO

SprintTuned STi
An outstanding performer in the Tsukuba Shootout, this car is one of the easiest to drive in my garage, period. A great driving car worthy of inclusion in the year's best.
- FCF iNFERNO

Stouffers Hipermax Evo
This car is wicked fast and fun to drive!
- DJSlackerjr
I second that. The yellow was good looking but not my favorite. The white is stunning, and this is one of the first Evos I go for in an online race.
- FCF iNFERNO

Fernos Engineering Evasive Evo
I love this car for short tracks and built my Lancer Evo 6 TME from this tune and it holds serveral of my personal best.
- DJSlackerjr
What can I say. I didn't want to include this car, but DJSlackerjr insisted. If it wouldn't have won Livery of the Week I probably would not have allowed it, lol. Thanks, Slacker. I probably don't drive this "honorable mention" enough...
- FCF iNFERNO

JeffKill's Fairlady Z Version S
Incredible speed and handling and an attractive minimalist paint make this one of the years best.
- FCF iNFERNO
S Class

Junismo's Evolution
With a slick livery and the tuning history of Jusismo behind it, this is a near perfect Evo.
- DJSlackerjr
This is the car I hold almost all of my S-Class TT-Snake tracks personal bests with. It flat out flies and has near-perfect balance.
- FCF iNFERNO

JeffKill's Gearbox Porsche Cayman
One of the fastest Caymans out there, the consistent handling puts it at the top.
- FCF iNFERNO

JFiler's Gearbox Evo
My #1 Nurburgring car is just as good on other tracks. Raudi's excellent paintwork make this one of the greats.
- FCF iNFERNO

Neil's Sentag/Wusthof Ferrari S Class Pack
This was a fun set to drive with 5 Different cars in the pack there was no boredom at all.
- DJSlackerjr

Garage Setagaya Yellow Shark
This is another car with a stunning livery and I was pleased to get one of the first cars release back in August. (See more in my Review of the Shark Cars)
- DJSlackerjr
After many races and walks through the garage, these are some of the many cars we recommend to our friends. Now for the awards...
Best Community Gift Car

Garage Setagaya C550 S13
This was the last car built by the team that started my interest into collecting cars. With a stunning livery if you don't have one ask around. There are a few nice people who may gift you a copy.
- DJSlackerjr
Best Christmas Gift

Tunign AG Honda A850 S2000
Originally used for the Pothole No Areo Tunning Challenge Drizze handed out a great Christmas gift to everyone in the Community. Its was a nice surprise to see on in my garage in xmas day.
- DJSlackerjr
Favorite Drift Car

Tunign AG 1994 Nissan Silvia K's
Ok. So what I know about drifting can be fit into a thimble, but that doesn't stop me from collecting these cars. This was one of the better liveries for a drift car.
- DJSlackerjr
... and finally, the Car of the Year for 2007:

GS Tsukuba Express
A superb car with amazing attention to detail to make this a quality race livery make this car outstanding. I look forward to the 2008 "car to get", maybe we can let the hype of this car die off finally... Doubt it.
- DJSlackerjr
This car was significant enough to inspire a host of people to get into tuning, and the point can be argued that the momentum created by this car formed the Tuning Marketplace. It is also currently the only car to have a true sequel, and sell out every copy of both.
Ultimately, the TE2 is the fastest car tuned for a specific track tied with Jfilers #1 Maple Valley NSX. No car, including the TE2, can match the hype of 99 pages of Tsukuba Express Mania. Instant sellouts and TE-only lobbies were the norm for this time period.
- FCF iNFERNO
Thanks to GS, GEARBOX, AG, UBM, SW2, TT, TT, EXI, Sprint, and truly EVERYONE ELSE that ever released a tuned car for this game. You have all progressed the Tuning Marketplace farther than anyone ever expected. Kudos and congratulations.
We'd like to mention DeJay88 as one of the best retired tuners. We have several cars tuned by him and they are all favorites. Some pictures of his cars are forthcoming.
We'd also like to recognize Sprinter and Stouffers as two of the best independent tuners we have seen. Their cars are incredibly well-developed and highly competitive.
2008 should be interesting...
